We’ve had an intense month at the SBC Australia office as we kicked off our first cohort of Growth Hackers. If you haven’t met them already, we’re here to catch you up on what our first class has been up to.
The Talent Institute Australia (TTI) launched its first 6-month program on 6 August with six talented young professionals looking to kick-start their careers in growth hacking. We flew over our Lead Growth Hacker, Tom Kollee, from our home in Amsterdam to get the trainees cracking on key techniques and practices as well as developing that crucial experimental mindset. Tom also ran an exclusive event for partners, corporates, and scaleups on How to Growth Hack your Company.
The startup mindset is at the heart of everything we do. The focus of our second week was getting the cohort to form teams and growth hack their very own startup. After three days of hacking, we had some top-notch Facebook campaigns reaching over 6,000 people with an impressive 4% click-through rate. Within two weeks the teams were ready to pitch their ideas to our team of coaches, entrepreneurs, and mentors.
With week three came the Unbound Summit—a conference focused on developing leaders in entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as a welcome trip out of the office. Our students got the chance to mingle with Melbourne’s best and brightest. They also attended talks and panels from founders and disruptive leaders. Next, it was time for some workshops. We hosted specialists in UX, HTML, CSS, SEO, and SEA for an intensive learning curve and some rapid experimentation. We ended week four with a team lunch, and time to reflect and unwind before we introduced our cohort to their traineeship companies.
For the next five months, our trainees will be primarily based within their traineeship companies, only revisiting us for deep dive sessions and more one-on-one mentoring. Their journey is just beginning and we wish them the best of luck.
Are you looking for some rapid acceleration or experimentation in your business? We’re currently on the lookout for more industries to disrupt. Please get in touch if you’d be interested in hiring one of our talented growth hackers.
